Movies of the week with official trailers

Director: Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck

Cast: Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, Paul Bettany, Timothy Dalton, Steven Berkoff

The Elise Clifton-Ward (Angelina Jolie), following the precise instructions of her partner, Alexander Pierce, a notorious crook who hides leaves hastily Paris bound for Venice. Both the authorities and gangsters on their doorstep, so too the Pierce's request, the path to the Italian city to find someone who looks to outwit their pursuers. Like this, the light-hearted tourist Frank Tupelo (Johnny Depp), a mathematician who travels to the profession to overcome a sexual frustration, will fall on unsuspecting net of fascinating and mysterious Elise.

Let's start with the data of the film. This remake of the French «Anthony Zimmer» (2005), which in Greece came straight-to-dvd. Director of «The Tourist» Germany's Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. If that is the lengthy name you do not say anything, the first feature length will surely tell you: the acclaimed «The Lives Of Others» made great success and here. The script worked with Christopher McQuarrie and Julian Fellowes, who have distinguished themselves for «The Usual Suspects» (1994) and «Gosford Park» (2001) respectively.

In leading roles we find two of the hottest names in Hollywood, the Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie, both capable of many things. As for the budget, is anything but parsimonious: $ 100 million, with filming in Paris and - most importantly - Venice. You read this and automatically generated expectations. But the reality is far. You can blame that Donnersmarck rushed to work in such a precise production. Maybe too focused his attention on how to manage the two bright stars to the 'show' beautiful, and ultimately lost. Maybe the actual story of the original film would not have much juice from the outset to be worked.

All that matters is, of course, adding here and in many heretical position signs, according to which 'The Lives of Others' was nothing more than an overvalued film and - therefore - the reputation that followed so long as director unnecessarily bloated. In essence, the «The Tourist» tour proved a cosmopolitan class wing with far tickler mystery suspense inevitably creates stale. Looks like Hitchcock slur in which the predominant element of surprise, either psylliasteis outset or - perchance - to catch, lead desensitized and - dramatic terms - fully operational matters. The history, theory, has a minimum interest. Each frame of Donnersmarck, however, is unbearably empty of characters. Passion and mystery between the two characters appear only in the first level.

Both Depp and Jolie embodies the paper two heroes, which is absent from the depth of the soul. Strong Jolie, the years which unfortunately beginning timidly to delete some scenes occurs as a style diva Sophia Loren, thus adding that the surrounding sense of old-fashioned and outmoded surrounding «The Tourist». The second Donnersmarck's film work, ultimately, only as a great disappointment, and the initial data specification. And - in addition to the below average reviews seconded - wonder what sort of dream they saw in the Foreign Press Association to honor three Golden Globe nominations (Best Comedy or Musical Film (?), Actor and Actress). Comedy in «The Tourist» can not say it, but it will hardly deny that this option humor Union beat red

                                                    ANOTHER MOVIE IS: BIUTIFUL

Directed by: Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu

Starring: Javier Bardem, Blanca Portillo, Ruben Ochandiano, Eduard Fernandez, Manolo Solo

Uxbal (Javier Bardem) learns he has cancer and it's still only 2 months of life. Act before leaving, to sort out the mess of his life. During this effort, wanders the slums and underworld of Barcelona, among immigrants, gangs and drug dealers.

The Uxbal has the misfortune to be the hero of Inarittu. This means that you will find a thousand myriad woes. Good day not to be seen ... and did not see! At 147 minutes the duration of a film so much is happening, frankly if some time out of his house and dropped a piano on his head and we made no impression! And the other characters but the film does not have a better fate. Each of them also a difficulty, each character and sorrow, all sorrow and tears. Some of them will remain standing until the fall, the end credits. Some have said? Write most. The body count of «Biutiful» racing to equal that of «The Expendables»!

The question is what serves the ultimate goal is the accumulation of suffering. We fear no one. Just the Inarittu swept by the charm of ... misery and destitution and resorting once again to a very fatalistic view of the universe, where redemption comes only when man accepts the mortality. To all that has changed since the interruption in collaboration with Guillermo Arriaga summarized in abandoning the fragmented narrative in favor of a more laminar, and the crowding out of the ordinary theme on global bond and interaction between human beings.

The shame of the matter is that we are dealing with a talented craftsman (and really as the construction of «Biutiful» does not have the slightest blemish, while in the nightclub scene is a mini-masterpiece) with a demonstrated ability to address actors (here the most important posts likely interpretation of Javier Bardem, a physical, highly balanced interpretation, which works beneficial to the film at times when the severity risk of being lost), which insists on the same depressing, emotional blackmail and 'sombre' movies. And if you change their course before it was just welcome, it is now imperative, if we do not want to get to the stage of accidental aftoparodias ...

ΠΡΩΤΑΓΩΝΙΣΤΕΣ

starring:»Jake Gyllenhaal bio »Anne Hathaway »Oliver Platt »Hank Azaria »Josh Gad
DIRECTOR: »Edward Zwick
DURATION: "112 minutes

U.S., late 90s. The Jamie Randall (Jake Gyllenhaal) is an intelligent young man who has given up medicine to live on their own terms. It's awesome kardiokataktitis but incompatible with any kind of commitment and working as a drug dealer who hunt to catch the 'good' in an America where gold-drug advertising promotion has just opened directly to the general public. When you learn to Maggie (Anne Hathaway), the natural reaction is to want to throw it in bed. Come But she, for its own reasons, wants nothing more. But it is actually only an occasional sex-seeking?

While reading the case of «Love And Other Drugs» only tell it is still a typical romantic comedy, you have fallen so far out and the Greek version of the title (Love like a drug '), as' drugs' is not mentioned to drugs but to drugs, which are in many ways a very important element of the story. The well-known producer, director and screenwriter Edward Zwick adapts along with Charles Randolph and Marshall Herskovitz's book Jamie Reidy, 'Hard Sell: The Evolution Of A Viagra Salesman'. This is the story of a drug dealer who treasure thanks to the revolution who hears the name Viagra, the famous blue pill, which resurrected the fallen 'moral' millions of men worldwide.

As stated, however, the writer, once an employee of the pharmaceutical Pfizer and later partner Zwick in the film, "... the book there is no love story." Contrary to the widespread stereotype of the evil that Hollywood shamelessly tearing apart true stories to make successful films cheap aesthetic, this exercise is walking great and «Love And Other Drugs» singles with characteristic ease the hybrid nature of the dramedy.

All money of course candidates for Golden Globes Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway, the second mating after their fateful for careers coexistence «Brokeback Mountain». Without a trace of hyperbole, the two fast rising actresses in touch «Love And Other Drugs» definition of chemistry, matching unique. The comfort you earn is something else, overcome with courage and incredible naturalness each demanding stage (see naked) and the final result owes much to them. And if the thing Gyllenhaal appeared from the outset (see «Donnie Darko», 2001), the 'princess' Hathaway of the namby-pamby «Princess Diaries» has made great strides and only empathy can no longer deny that the one of the most talented actresses of her generation. H interpretation, moreover, in «Rachel Getting Married» and the confidence they have shown artists such as Ang Lee and the Tim Burton confirms this reputation.

The really good thing but for «Love And Other Drugs» is not that this is a typical eminent film interpretations. Zwick's film is distinguished for its ideal ratio between spirtoza pure comedy and touching drama, never forgets to illuminate the social / economic background of the case - which anyway is a very interesting true story - and earn extra points by the second roles, starting with the great Oliver Platt in the role of a colleague Gyllenhaal.

Lindsay Lohan leave rehab

Amidst claims that she was going to stay another week in rehab, Radar Online is reporting that Lindsay Lohan has, in fact, left the Betty Ford Center. We have no clue where she ventured off to, but we do know that her mind is clear enough to tweet her likeness to Gandhi and have people move her things out of her West Hollywood apartment, which is where she did her drugs and had her parties.

Lindsay will probably go live with her mother for a while before she decides whether or not to move to Los Angeles or New York. Whichever she chooses, she'll have to be on good behavior because she's still on probation from her DUI arrest in 2007 (which doesn't expire until August of this year). She's due back in court on February 25th for a hearing on the progress of her healing, the details of which will certainly be progressive and rooted in tomfoolery.

Which Diva will rule??Lady Gagaor Britney Spears?

In 2010, Lady Gaga battled Taylor Swift for female pop domination, but in 2011, Gaga is going up against none other than career pop star Britney Spears. It should be a truly epic battle of the blondes, and it's made even more interesting because the two not only share sonic similarities, but also have very similar fanbases of loyal devotees waiting to hear new notes from the chart-topping lasses.

In 2008, both Gaga and Spears released new music (Gaga with The Fame and Britney with Circus), and the ladies each released compilation albums in 2009 (Gaga's The Fame Monster and Britney's second greatest-hits collection, The Singles Collection), but never have their releases really come face to face as they will this year.

Gaga is set to release her single in February, with her full album, Born This Way, to follow sometime after. Meanwhile, Britney will have her first single out very early in 2011, with the album set for release in March.

So, which bombshell will rise to the top of the heap? MTV News asked music critics to weigh in.

"I think the thing about Gaga is: Her persona is really experimental, but her music isn't, and I think she's gonna have to really come out with some different stuff to make it more interesting," writer Julianne Escobedo-Shepherd proposed. "I think her fanbase is so solid that she'll be fine no matter what she does."

New York Times writer Jon Caramanica noted that no one can guess what Gaga has up her sleeve for her next album, but it will be interesting.

"I see Gaga changing every six months," he said. "I think she's trying new ideas. Maybe they're not all hits or they're not all successful, but I think she's trying new things, so if you look at how Gaga's going to evolve, I don't think we can say where Gaga's gonna land," he explained, "but I think we can say reliably it's going to be really interesting."

How does a vet like Britney compete with a newbie? Escobedo-Shepherd explained that Spears is actually in a great place to do it.

"She's got a blank slate right now," she said. "People don't know what to expect from her. I think the fact that maybe she's being more experimental shows that she feels freer a little bit, and I think it's going to show in the music," she predicted. "In the music sphere, I think that Britney's gonna win, but Gaga's so on top you can't top her, even if you're Britney."

RapRadar.com's Elliot Wilson noted that right now, "It's Gaga's game to lose," and Complex's Noah Callahan said Spears' vet status could work in her favor.

"The thing with Britney Spears that makes it work for her is that she's been around for so long that people are invested in her narrative, and even when the records are so-so, they still have the desire to see her succeed as an individual," he said. "I don't really know what to expect from Lady Gaga in 2011. I do know that she will definitely throw us a curveball and do something that is unexpected."

Do you expect Gaga or Britney to rule 2011? Give us your prediction in the comments below!
